Now THAT is what a gig should be like. Good sound, excellent backline, rammed sweaty club and people jumping up and down to excellent rock and roll.
And for the record, I've driven from about an hour into France through to Dusseldorf and then from Berling to Hamburg. Without killing anyone although I did scuff the kerb this evening and make the height limit bars in the car park ring like giant chime bars to the consternation of the drunken reeperbahn revellers. Tomorrow I get to drive Hamburg back to France with hopefully no casualties still.

FD on the road to Berlin
Day 4.
Day one was the kickoff gig in Bristol (excellent) , day two up to London at Madame JoJo's (stressful) and yesterday a leisurely pootle to Duesseldorf with a nice relaxing stopover in Anwerp on the way.
"Germany will be lovely when it's finished"
Or at least the roads. We set out with plenty of time to get to Berlin and have managed to hit every traffic jam and road works on the way. 200k to go in 90 minutes. Ain't gonna happen.
Ian Gillan loves to use the word "hurtle" to describe travelling on a tourbus. The best word I can use is "frustrating". Oh, and hot. The weather is fabulous!

Should we be afraid?
OK, blogging someone else's pic because, well, it's just too good not to yell about.
The big question is, are the 80's back? Or did they never go away in Cleveland?

Bearknuckles promo shoot
Much horsing around in Portishead and some great shots (well, I think so anyway!).
This is my pick of the lot: cross-processed in front of the vivid blue steel shutters of the industrial unit.

The Hats and Underdown at The Fleece
Caught The Hats last night being supported by local stalwarts Underdown. Solid performances all round even if there was a Nadine Gingell shaped hole in the Hats, sadly.

Hackerkitchen
Last week I had the privilege of attending the hackerkitchen. Nine courses of foody goodness with far too much wine and crazy Taiwanese metal.

Oh FFS, dismissing Perl. Again?
OK, so I'm sat at a Perl conference with some of the smartest programmers out there, working for some serious companies doing enterprise level code with great software engineering practices and this clueless mouthpiece dimisses it alongside ISAPI.
WTF?
And his system depends on one smart programmer who wrote the compiler? Hahaha. Good luck.
